The Amegilla bee is concentrating the nectar by blowing a bubble, allowing some of the moisture to evaporate, and then drawing the diminished bubble back in. This behaviour was repeated over for about 1 minute. The bee was positioned on the Salvia leaf with its head (and bubble) projected into space for maximum evaporative effect.
